About Verity Longpar

Welcome to my site! My name is Verity. I work as a receptionist in a dentist office. Every day for the past 20 years, I have come in to the office, worked on paperwork, and greeted patients. I love my job, because it has helped me meet a lot of really wonderful people. I have seen families grow up! But an added benefit from my job is that I have also picked up some small information about dentistry. I'm not one of the dentists, but I do know quite a bit about simple procedures and basic dental hygiene. Hopefully this blog can teach you something, but remember to always consult with your actual dentist for real professional advice!

Three Great Cavity-Fighting Tips

Eleanor Crawford

If you want to protect both your dental health and your digestion, it pays to find some ways that will help you ward off cavities. Cavities will wreck your oral health if left unchecked, which is why you need to employ some practical tips to help safeguard your teeth for the long run. With this in mind, follow this resource and use these tips in order to enjoy a cavity-free life.

Tip 1 - Add Some Cheese To Your Diet

While most people know to avoid sugary foods, you might not know what foods to add to your diet in order to upgrade your dental health. Believe it or not, cheese is one of the best cavity-fighting staples that you can add to your diet, in order to prevent plaque and decay. Scientists note that casein, an active ingredient found in all different types of cheese, serves you greatly by suppressing the development of cavities. Further, cheese is packed with plenty of cavity fighting calcium, so adding it to your regular diet will improve your dental health thoroughly.

Tip 2 - Drink Plenty Of Organic Tea

In addition to giving you a boost of energy and enhancing your body with plenty of antioxidants, tea can help you prevent the development of cavities in your teeth. Because of this, you should stock your cupboards with plenty of organic black and green tea and drink it liberally, in order to avoid decay. The tea works hard to do this by fighting the cavity-causing bacteria that is typically found in a person's mouth. As an added bonus, the tea will serve to prevent plaque and freshen your breath as well.

Tip 3 - Establish A Primary Care Dentist

It's easy to forget about regular appointments, but you should never put off visits to the dentist if you want to avoid cavities. Your dentist will be able to provide you with regular cleanings, inspections and fluoride treatments, so that you can prevent the development of these cavities. Your dentist can also fill your current cavities and seal your teeth, so that you are always protected from decay over the long haul. It is important that you find the assistance of a licensed and medically certified dental professional, in order to be sure that you are always getting the care that you need.
