About Verity Longpar

Welcome to my site! My name is Verity. I work as a receptionist in a dentist office. Every day for the past 20 years, I have come in to the office, worked on paperwork, and greeted patients. I love my job, because it has helped me meet a lot of really wonderful people. I have seen families grow up! But an added benefit from my job is that I have also picked up some small information about dentistry. I'm not one of the dentists, but I do know quite a bit about simple procedures and basic dental hygiene. Hopefully this blog can teach you something, but remember to always consult with your actual dentist for real professional advice!

Do You Have A Bad Oral Infection And Teeth Need Pulled? Choose Affordable Dentures

Eleanor Crawford

If you have a large section of your mouth that has been infected, and you think a large amount of the teeth have to be pulled, you want to ask your dentist about getting dentures. Dentures may be an easier option and more affordable opposed to getting all of the teeth removed and then replaced with permanent dental implants.

There are a few different things you have to take into consideration when you are thinking about dentures and whether or not you want to use them. Here are some great perks to getting dentures.

Easy to Care For

Dentures are easy to care for. They are taken out of your mouth each night, and you soak them in cleanser. The next day, you use adhesive to put them back in your mouth. You can brush the teeth like you brushed the original teeth that you had, and, if you get partial dentures, you just brush and floss the other teeth you had in your mouth like normal.

Natural Appearance

The teeth will be white and sized to look like the teeth that you had before you got the infection. The bottom of the denture is made to look like the natural gum tissue in your mouth also, so you will appear to have a white, straight smile and healthy gums.

No More Infection

When the root of the tooth gets infected and the infection gets down in the gum tissue, you are at the risk of a total body infection that can cause a lot of pain. With the teeth pulled and the gum tissue closed, it's easy to keep the tissue healthy and you won't have to worry about the root of the tooth getting infected. This will help you keep a healthy smile. You may also want to get occasional tissue cleanings in the area where the dentures are adhered.

If you are dealing with a bad oral infection and you already know that you need to have the teeth extracted, tell your dentist you want to get a referral for a specialist like R. Troup Davis, DDS to get dentures. The dentures can be made quickly so you don't have to go a long time without teeth in your mouth, and you don't have to go through a painful surgery like you would if you had all the teeth replaced with permanent dental implants that go into the bone.
