About Verity Longpar

Welcome to my site! My name is Verity. I work as a receptionist in a dentist office. Every day for the past 20 years, I have come in to the office, worked on paperwork, and greeted patients. I love my job, because it has helped me meet a lot of really wonderful people. I have seen families grow up! But an added benefit from my job is that I have also picked up some small information about dentistry. I'm not one of the dentists, but I do know quite a bit about simple procedures and basic dental hygiene. Hopefully this blog can teach you something, but remember to always consult with your actual dentist for real professional advice!

Problems Cosmetic Dentists Can Solve

Eleanor Crawford

Your dental formulae are often prone to various problems, but the good news is that your dentist can come to your aid. With the help of technological advancements, dental equipment makes it reasonably easy to solve dental problems. Cosmetic dentists can solve problems such as broken teeth, fix missing teeth, and even help alleviate dental problems that may be detrimental to your health. Regular check-ups are essential to enable your dentist to identify any dental problems for early mitigation. However, it is also important to know the tooth-related problems that a cosmetic dentist can solve.

Chipped Tooth

Cosmetic dentists can make chipped teeth a thing of the past. This is usually done through dental bonding, where resins are utilized to fill chips and restore such teeth to their original appearances. This is a simple procedure undertaken by cosmetic dentists, and it can take a few hours.

Dental Gaps

Dental gaps are often a genetic creation. Sometimes, bone drifting can create gaps. Since a perfect smile implies neat bonding and alignment of your dental formulae, gaps between teeth can therefore affect your self-confidence. Furthermore, dental gaps can also become breeding spaces for bacteria since food particles can get stuck in such areas. Cosmetic dentists occasionally use braces to close the gaps between teeth.

Stained or Yellow Teeth

Stains on teeth can be faded using whitening methods at home. However, DIY methods may take too long to work, and even then, you are not guaranteed results. It is for these reasons that professional deep cleaning is the best solution. Teeth whitening at the dentist can be effective if you go for two or more sessions, as your dentist advises.

Crooked Teeth

Crooked teeth can occur due to trauma, knocking them out of their appropriate places. Another common cause of crooked teeth is genetics. When jaw surfaces are too small for the teeth, they will grow in crowded places and thus push each other out of appropriate alignments. On the other hand, when the jaw surface is too big for the teeth' alignment, crookedness occurs. Cosmetic dentists can rectify or solve this problem using teeth aligners or braces.

Edentulous

Edentulous or missing teeth can affect your dental structure and hinder chewing. You may miss a tooth due to necessary removal or fall out. It is essential to replace missing teeth to restore your smile and the functionality of your dental formulae. Dentists fix missing teeth using dental implants and crowns.

You need to know the dental problems a cosmetic dentist can fix, since it can be easier to book an appointment knowing you will get a solution to your dental issues.
